The 25 Best Movies to Watch with Friends…. And Beer….

You have: a bunch friends, you have salt and buttered popcorn, and you have a fridge full of beer. Now what? It’s movie time! And we here at BDU thought up a list of the best Movies that we like to watch with friends and a few beers or 3, or 4…. So not necessarily in order from the “Meh” movies to the “Best” movie: Tommy Boy. Chris Farley is not known for having very many good movies (I’m looking at you Beverly Hills Ninja.) … An incompetent, immature, and dimwitted heir to an auto parts factory (Farley) must save the business to keep it out of the hands of his new, con-artist relatives and big business with the help of his father’s stuck up assistant. (David Spade.) It really is Chris Farley at his “Slapstick Comedy” best. The Blues Brothers. This cult classic includes two of the pioneers of Saturday Night Live in a hilarious comedy, indulging into their characters from the show. John Belushi and Dan Akroyd are Jake and Elwood Blues, two eccentric brothers who are "On A Mission From God". Jake Blues(Belushi), just out from prison, puts together his old band to save the Catholic home where he and brother Elwood (Akroyd) were raised. Office Space. If you work in a cube, or even a chain restaurant, and love satire, this is your movie! It may not be a movie for everyone but for those chosen ones, it means getting together with friends, and a few beers, and enjoy a classic and quote it…. Every day! If you are a cube dweller, then - AAhhhhh I need you to go ahead and check out this movie, uh yeah, that would be great. The Cannonball Run. Burt Reynolds leads on all-star cast of weird and wacky drivers competing in a no-holds-barred race competition called the Cannonball Run. Along for the ride are Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Dom DeLuise, Jamie Farr, Jacki Chan, Terry Bradshaw and so many others. This is NOT a movie to be taken seriously, especially with Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. cruising around dressed up like priests - - in a Ferrari. But it’s dam fun to watch. Slapshot. A hockey movie written by a woman (Nancy Dowd.) Located in the US Rust Belt, Charlestown is home of the hapless Chiefs, a losing Federal League hockey team whose games are poorly attended. The film really shines as a straight comedy, though, delivering some classic characters and set pieces: virtually every appearance of the Hansons; a clueless, toupee-wearing sportscaster (Andrew Duncan); the team's tiny Quebecker goalie (Yvon Barrette), and Paul Newman himself, in one of his personal favorite roles. Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The Film is about a group of high school students growing up in southern California, It based on a Book and screenplay from real-life adventures chronicled by Cameron Crowe. Stacy Hamilton (Jennifer Jason Leigh)and Mark Ratner (Brian Backer) are looking for a love interest, and are helped along by their older classmates, Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates.) and Mike Damone (Robert Romanus), respectively. The center of the film is held by Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn), a perpetually stoned surfer dude who faces off with the resolute Mr. Hand, who is convinced that everyone is on dope and obsessed with sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. Caddyshack. Comical goings on at an exclusive golf club as all the members are wealthy and eccentric, and all the staff are poor and only slightly less eccentric. The main character is 'Danny'(Michael O’Keefe); he's a caddy who will do almost anything to raise money to go to college. There are many subplots, including the assistant green keeper's pursuit (Bill Murray) of a cute (obviously stuffed) gopher. Great comedic performance from Ted Knight, Chevy Chase and the movie is stolen by Rodney Dangerfield. Smokey and the Bandit. The Bandit (Burt Reynolds) and Cledus (Jerry Reed) are two truck-driving southerners who accept a dare/bet from big-shots Big (Pat McCormick) and Little (Paul Willliams) Enos to pick up a truckload of Coors beer from Texas and return it to them within 28 hours. Why? Cause they are Thirsty! Dummies! Picking it up is simple enough, but as they are leaving Texas, Bandit unwittingly picks up Carrie, (Sally Field) a hitchhiking bride-to-be who just left her groom, Junior, (Mike Henry) at the altar. Junior, however, is the son of Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jacki Gleason). And when Buford and Junior discover what has happened, they go on a "high-speed pursuit" across the Southeast to catch the Bandit. Airplane. “Airplane” is the master of spoof movies. It is single-handedly responsible for defining a sub-genre of comedy. It is the ultimate Silly Movie. A satire of the disaster movies of the 1970s, particularly the "Airport" series, nothing makes sense and it doesn't need to. There's no real plot. Just laughs - and plenty of 'em. While a bit dated it’s still chock full of memorable silly quotes and totally changed the career of Leslie Nielson from Serious Character actor to all out comedy star! Still craving for the love of his life, Ted Striker (Robert Hayes) follows Elaine (Julie Hagerty) onto the flight that she is working on as a member of the cabin crew. Elaine doesn't want to be with Ted anymore, but when the crew and passengers fall ill from food poisoning, all eyes are on Ted. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. I have to admit: I avoided this movie like the Plague.. I have just never been a real big fan of Will Ferrell.. I cannot really explain why either… But then I watched this movie… Then I watched it again… You have to re watch it a few times because you end up laughing so hard you miss the next joke… It’s a laugh riot! Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) is San Diego's top-rated newsman in the male-dominated broadcasting of the 1970s, but that's all about to change for Ron and his cronies when the ambitious Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) is hired as a new anchor. Die Hard. This action packed joyride of a movie that will have you cheering, has Tough New York City cop, John McClane (Bruce Willis) who then travels to Los Angeles on an invitation by a powerful corporate leader to celebrate at a Christmas Eve Party, where McClane's estranged wife (Bonnie Bedella) is attending. The Party is crashed by internationally based terrorists lead by Hans Gouber (Alan Rickman, in a terrific performance) who hijack the tall skyscraper. Several hostages are killed, and the police and FBI have been called in to negotiate. What follows is a non-stop spectacle of stunts, explosions, guns, and amazing action choreography. Hans Gouber has kept several of the patrons hostage. However, Gouber and his mercenaries have not counted on McClane to intervene on the action! DIE HARD is simply one of the best cinematic action masterpieces ever. It is a white knuckle adventure that keeps you on the edge of the seat throughout the entire film and thus you need the beer to calm you down. The Goonies. Mikey Walsh (Sean Astin)and Brandon Walsh (Josh Brolin) are brothers whose family is preparing to move because developers want to build a golf course in the place of their neighborhood . That is: unless enough money is raised to stop the construction of the golf course, and that's quite doubtful. But when Mikey stumbles upon a treasure map of the famed "One-Eyed" Willy's hidden fortune, Mikey, Brandon, and their friends set out on an adventure to find the loot… Better off Dead. I’m not sure where to stoart with this movie… I mean it has everything…. Let's recap what this movie has in it. We have Lane Meyer that attempts suicide but he can't even succeed at that. his best friend declares that a mountain they are on in the dead of winter is pure snow, saying " Do you know what the street value of this is?.” Lane has a younger brother who orders books on how to pick up trashy women and learns how to build rockets. We have the entire male population ( including Barney Rubble ) that wants to go out with Lane's ex-girlfriend now that they are broken up. There is two Oriental guys that want to constantly race Lane and then broadcast it over the loud speaker on their car. There is Porky from the Porky's movies basically playing the same role here, dancing hamburgers, a basketball team that grunts and of course the most relentless paper boy in the history of paper delivery… There are so many things in this movie that combine to make it Hysterically funny and all of your friends will relentlessly quote “2 Dollars” for the rest of your lives… Road House. Can you say Best “B” movie ever? It entertains and gives the fans of it's genre straight up satisfaction with no need to take the whole story too seriously.. A good action comedy/drama with good action choreography and a simple plot of good versus evil and why each side does what it does.The acting is adequate and the cast chosen here was also good. The production values were all average but still, the overall flow of the movie just delivers for all those fans who understand B-action movies. This is the best Swayze and Elliot movie ever. Running Scared. Danny (Billy Crystal) and Ray (Gregory Hines) are two top street wise cops in Chicago. When they are almost killed on a case, they are forced to take a vacation by their captain. Key West offers a substantial change over frozen Chicago. They decide to quit and open a bar in Key West. Upon returning, they find that Julio (Jimmy Smits), the drug dealer who nearly killed them, has made bail and is trying to complete a giant drug deal. They decide to complete their case against Julio before quitting, but they begin being careful. Their effectiveness drops because the “Bar Deal” is something to look forward too, and thus they have something to live for and thus, they find they can't operate the way they did before if they don't have the edge of a long time commitment. Space Balls. Mel Brooks wrote and directed this comedy/parody of sci-fi. King Roland (Dick Van-Patton) of the planet Druidia is trying to marry his daughter Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) to Prince Valium (Jim J. Bullock), but Vespa is kidnapped by...
